Ballandean State School is a quality small school with a big focus on developing the unique individual strengths of each student across all subject areas, whilst catering for a range of learning styles. We pride ourselves on providing the very best education possible to our students.
Our school is well resourced and our staff are a dedicated team of professionals with the sole focus of supporting and guiding our students' learning. We proudly have a long history of inclusivity, meaning that our teachers and support staff are able to help all students reach their full potential, in a supportive and caring environment, whilst helping to inspire creative and curious minds.
Currently we have 55 students enrolled across three multi-age classrooms from Prep to Year 6. Our small class sizes ensure that our students receive regular individualised attention which supports a focused and contextualised school curriculum.
We offer a well-rounded approach and our values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility are the cornerstones of all that we do at Ballandean State School to ensure, that each child has every opportunity to succeed.
We are most proud of our outdoor learning spaces, which include nature play areas, such as an obstacle course, loose parts play area, cubby building area, vegie garden and even a chicken coop. These areas are set amongst peaceful garden settings where students can spend some quiet time. All these areas are set up for students to use their imaginations and create spaces out of natural items whilst encouraging problem solving, co-operation and teamwork.
Our instrumental strings program provides students in Years 3-6 with an opportunity to explore and develop their creative talents. Students have a choice of double bass, cello, viola or violin as part of this program.
The school has a well-equipped library with comfortable reading spaces and access to 1:1 iPads and laptop computers, to help support and reinforce learning across all subject areas.
The Ballandean State School P&C share our dedication to provide students with the best educational opportunities and they are active in supporting the school's improvement agenda by making regular contributions towards student activities. Ballandean State School enjoys and welcomes the wider community's support and really is a wonderful place to learn.
